Dear Mr. Carr,
I wanted to personally thank you, again, for the opportunity to be a
part of the Swedish and American hockey exchange! Words are
inadequate when describing the benefits of this experience! As I take
the time to reflect on the whirlwind of activity over the past 10
days, I can't help but feel I am a better person. Better for
expanding my horizons, better for trying new things, learning more
about the world beyond my day-to-day ex istenc e, and knowing how much
more there is to life. There are many moments that stand out in my
memory... Dr. Lundin standing on the chair and singing for his
supper, the exuberance of cheering for Tyringe players at Frederick,
watching my son and two brothers from Sweden taking shots at the goal
in our cul de sac, receiving gifts from the Swedes and most especially
the heartfelt good-byes exchanged by players, families and coaches. I
was very touched that Dr. Lundin shook my hand and expressed his
gratitude.
This was such a large undertaking. Those who were on the planning
committee did an amazing job of planning activities and organizing the
players and the host families. Amy Benson sent out daily emails
keeping everyone up to date on activities and transportation. I also
thought it was great that Betsy Good was able to take some amazing
pictures and share them with us. I am very grateful to these people
and their d edicat ion to the success of this experience. It is my
deepest wish to participate in this exchange in the future. I will be
the first in line to volunteer my assistance.
Sincerely,
Kerstin Milauskas
