Community Service
Each player is expected to participate in the community service projects organized by their team. This is a great opportunity to both get to know team mates while also helping folks less fortunate than us. Here is a listing of projects by team for this season:
Midget Blue: December 6 Holiday Party with guests and their families from the Association of Retarded Citizens from Howard, AA and PG counties. This annual event will get the Holidays started as almost 100 guests skate with our players and then get one of the first glimpses of Santa Claus, have dinner and take home a present.
Midget Gold: December 6 Holiday Party with guests and their families from the Association of Retarded Citizens from Howard, AA and PG counties. This annual event will get the Holidays started as almost 100 guests skate with our players and then get one of the first glimpses of Santa Claus, have dinner and take home a present.
Midget Red: December 6 Holiday Party with guests and their families from the Association of Retarded Citizens from Howard, AA and PG counties. This annual event will get the Holidays started as almost 100 guests skate with our players and then get one of the first glimpses of Santa Claus, have dinner and take home a present.
Sunday, December 10th, part of the Midget Red team ventured to Baltimore to assist in the feeding of between 600 and 800 folks. The players and the two coaches helped bring smiling faces and Holiday Spirit to folks certainly less fortunate than themselves. A wonderful gift for the givers and the receivers. Well done Midget Red!
Bantams: (Laura Frye) December 6 Holiday Party with guests and their families from the Association of Retarded Citizens from Howard, AA and PG counties. Pee Wee Blue: The Pee Wee Blue team have completed their community projects. For our first project the team participated in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation walk for the cure and raised several thousand dollars for that cause. Our second service project was to collect food for a local food bank. Our players replenished a very depleted stock of foodstuffs.
Pee Wee Gold: (Dennis Kelleher) Pee Wee Gold has finalized and is working on our first Community Project. The project is to fundraising to provide standard daily use items for Sarah's House, which is a family oriented overnight shelter facility located near Fort Meade , MD. We will be purchasing daily items for them such as paper products, child care snacks and drinks, canned foods, books and videos, linens, etc.
